The Clarissen Prayer Book is a manuscript of German-language Christian prayers composed by Beatrix, a sister of Königinkloster, a monastery of the Franciscan order of Poor Clares in Vienna. The prayers, focused on the Passion of Christ, are arranged for recitation over twenty-four hours. A full-page allegorical image of animals and objects illustrating virtues and vices precedes each prayer. All the prayers open with a historiated initial O (for the acclamation O) occupied by an animal. The scribe, Anna von Thanhausen, and the illuminator, Eleonora Jörgerin, both of the Königinkloster, created the manuscript in 1640.
The manuscript, now preserved in the Archabbey of Pannonhalma Library in Hungary, features an 18th-century dark brown leather binding. Though its provenance history remains largely unknown, records indicate that Abbess Maria Columba von Stadl presented it to Sister Francisca Theresia de St. Aloysio von Lamberg in 1753.
