The Códice Tributos de Coyoacán is a colonial pictography rooted in the Nahua tradition, characterized by legal-administrative elements. The information is organized into 12 sections, delineated by vertical and horizontal lines. The right-hand column details the activities of two officials, Doctors Gómez de Santillán and Rodríguez de Quesada, who conducted visits to Coyoacán and Tacubaya. Additionally, Spanish annotations describe the tributes paid over the last 33 years up to the current time, with notary Pedro Suero affixing his signature to the texts. The officials are accompanied by three indigenous figures: Juan Ramírez, Miguel García, and Lucas García, two of whom hold the rank of judges, depicted with topiles and icpallis, reflecting their involvement in the moderation of tribute collection. The remaining two vertical sections provide a graphic depiction of the items tributed, along with their values in the currency of New Spain (common gold pesos and tomines).
