The Berlin Petrarch comprises eighteen miniatures illustrating the allegorical Trionfi ("Triumphs") and six more poems by Petrarch. The manuscript was created in France around 1560. The six Triumphs miniatures are accompanied by French verse distichs describing the images. Unusually, the miniature for the triumph of Divinity (Eternity) over Time shows a Throne of Grace Trinity having defeated not only Time but also Love, Chastity, Death, and Fame (fol. 9v). The remaining twelve miniatures illustrate poems focused on the death of Petrarch's beloved Laura and are accompanied by translations into French of Petrarch's Italian verse.
