Album Amicorum of Jacob Heyblocq

The Album Amicorum is a Dutch friendship book compiled between 1645 and 1678 by the scholar and Amsterdam schoolmaster Jacob Heyblocq. Its 196 contributions preserve poems, inscriptions, and images by prominent figures of seventeenth-century Dutch intellectual and artistic life, including Joost van den Vondel, Constantijn Huygens, and Rembrandt van Rijn. Especially remarkable for its visual material, the album contains forty-one drawings, two engravings, three paper cut-outs, and a decorated title page, making it an exceptional record of Heyblocq's cultural network.
