The Officium beatae Mariae Virginis secundum usum Romanum, known as the Vrelant Book of Hours, features a decorative apparatus attributed to the collaboration between the Utrecht artist Willem Vrelant and one of the followers of the 'Eyckian school,' the followers of the Belgian painter Jan van Eyck. This bridal gift, commissioned by a French patron, was created in Bruges in the mid-15th century (1455-1460) and features 23 full-page illuminations. All 384 pages are enriched with marginalia and initials. The manuscript was presented to the Laurentian Library in 1806 by Maria Luisa of Spain, Queen of Etruria.
