What I enjoy most about my job is visiting libraries<\/strong> and museums<\/strong> where time seems to have stopped, because the historical treasures<\/strong> they hold emanate sacred energy<\/strong> from bygone centuries. My second visit to Paris<\/strong> to study the Psalter of Blanche of Castile<\/a><\/strong> was no exception\u2014and I have to say that I felt goosebumps on my body at the thought of creating a facsimile of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am deeply thankful to Charlotte Kramer<\/strong> and library officials Louisa Torres <\/strong>and Khadiga Aglan <\/strong>for this unique opportunity. I am also grateful and honored to have shared this wonderful experience with renowned art historian Eberhard K\u00f6nig<\/strong> and experts of the same caliber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 2019, I took part in the first color-proofing session<\/a> of the Psalter. This time, an even rarer object was awaiting me: the chemise<\/em>, an embroidered silk binding<\/strong> donated by Charles VI<\/strong> that protected the Psalter for decades \u2014 only two other similar bindings have survived in France until today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
