The so-called "Mondsee-Wiener Liederhandschrift" is one of the most important monuments of the medieval art of lied. It contains 31 spiritual and 57 profane songs and 12 mastersongs. For the musicology it is a source of greatest value. Over half of the 100 works are by the minnesinger, Hermann, the monk of Salzburg; others by Peter von Arberg, Heinrich von Mügeln, Klingsor, Barthel Regenbogen and Albrecht Lesch.
